Summer Camps with Gold Crush
What makes Gold Crush camps so great? . . . they’re fun and educational! We strive to let climbers explore while providing more advanced technical skills when appropriate. It’s amazing how naturally climbing comes to so many kids; we foster that with climbing games and open climbing. The other great aspect is that kids do not have to be natural super-athletes to climb.
We have two camps set up for this summer so far: Gravity Camp is a cooperation with our friends next door, Foothills Fitness, while the other camps are strictly in our facility.
Responsibility, Awareness, Perseverance and Patience : We teach kids how to RAPP!
NEW! Lead Climbing Class
Join professional mountain guide and Gold Crush Gym Founder Erik Bonnet for an in-depth lead climbing class.
When lead climbing, the lead climber or leader wears a harness tied to one end of a rope. The leader’s partner provides the belay, paying out rope as needed, but ready to hold the rope tightly, usually with the aid of a belay device, to catch the leader in the event of a fall. This is different than top rope climbing because in lead climbing, the leader carries the top of the rope with them as they progress up the route.
What makes this lead class unique? Well, we strive to do things differently at Gold Crush, so first we’re going to feed you while we hang out and get to know everyone during the first 30 minutes. We do this because when you rope climb you put your life in another’s hands, and as such, getting to know that person is an important part of the process.
We want you to feel comfortable and confident when you climb, so come learn with us! We can’t wait to see you.
Date: Tuesday January 23, 2018
Cost: Members $50, Guests $70 (6 max)
Skill Level: Climbing at 5.8/V2 recommended
Don’t forget! Arrive on time for food and team bonding! See you there!
